M.S. Montessori Pedagogy
M.S. Autism Spectrum Disorders
B.S. Speech Therapy
Mónica is the Founder & Co-Directress of Trébol Montessori School. She is a native of Spain. After obtaining her University Degree in Tourism, she soon discovered that her place was in a more humane and social treatment.
She obtained her University Degree as a Speech Therapist and a master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders. After her work in health centers, teaching centers and hundreds of cases in a private cabinet, she saw that something serious was missing in traditional education. Searching for holistic and respectful methods where the individual rhythms were respected, children participated actively and happy in their development, maintaining the intrinsic curiosity of children as the main learning tool she found Montessori and captivated her.
The vision that Dr. Maria Montessori offered was what she was looking for, a scientific method that supported her vision of childhood. She studied a Master in Montessori Pedagogy at the University of Barcelona. Mónica is an AMI guide. She has worked in Montessori schools in Spain, Poland and she came to Costa Rica to bring the Montessori method closer to the children of the South Pacific.
Creating Trébol with a small group of children in her home, offering family support and speech therapy until she teamed up with Jenni to make Trébol a certified school and continue to grow together.
Mónica is a passionate mind, always in continuous training. She likes drawing and creative activities, dancing, and above all enjoying the little-big things that cross her path like the beautiful sunsets and the kind-hearted people that cross her path.
JENNI WOLFe
Co-founder, Co-directress and Casa del Niño Guide
Montessori Institute of America (MIA) Certification
ESL Teacher
B.S. Behavioral Science and Health
Jenni is the Co-directress and Co-founder of Trébol Montessori. She is originally from the United States and has lived in Costa Rica since 2016.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health and then began working as an investigator for the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). After working for the FDA for 2.5 years she realized that type work was not really her passion.
Jenni moved to Vietnam where she discovered her passion for teaching. She taught physical fitness and she became an English as a second language (ESL) teacher. Jenni taught at various pre-schools and schools in Hanoi. She worked for a Montessori school and fell in love with the Montessori method.
The Montessori method was developed from behavioral sciences, anthropology, and psychology and addresses the whole child from grace and courtesy and practical life lessons to academic lessons using natural learning methods. This deeply resonated with her, so she decided to become certified as a Montessori guide.
Understanding the importance of children learning with hands-on materials and socially interacting with their peers, she wants the children in the Uvita community to have access to quality holistic learning.
In addition to being a teacher, Jenni is a mother and wants her own children to have a Montessori experience. So when Monica invited her to help grow Trébol it was a resounding YES!
